Charlotte Radiant Heating Systems
A thin heating wire installed beneath your flooring is how radiant heating systems work. When you turn the system on, the wire heats up and provides radiant heat. The heating cable comes pre-spaced on a mat, in foil, or as a membrane system with loose wires depending on the type of flooring. It can be used with almost any type of flooring including carpet, wood, tile, laminate, and vinyl.
Radiant floor heating also utilizes a warm water system. It works by circulating warm water through pipes installed underneath the flooring. In this type of system, the pipes are installed in a loop shape to provide an even distribution of heat.
The system is then connected to a boiler or other suitable heat source. To ensure water enters the pipes at the right temperature, a pump mixing unit and a manifold are installed under the heat source and floor heating system.
